With a new found appreciation for a cappella music, thanks in large part to NBC’s The Sing-Off, the upcoming film Pitch Perfect already sounds like it has potential. Take the harmonious sound of a cappella music, add Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson to the mix, and there’s even more appeal. The latest bit of news on the film, which is based on a non-fiction book by Mickey Rapkin, is that Brittany Snow has joined the cast.

Directed by Avenue Q’s Jason Moore, Pitch Perfect stars Kendrick as a rebellious college student who figures out she can sing and decides to participate in a struggling all girls a cappella group. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Brittany Snow has joined the cast and will play the part of Chloe, “a somewhat rigid personality who finds her spot in the group.”

Snow proved her musical abilities in the 2007 remake of Hairspray, playing the squarish Amber Von Tussle. With that in mind, it isn’t hard to picture her as a somewhat uptight but musically talented girl. Also among the cast is Australian actress Rebel Wilson, whom is likely to remembered (and loved) for her role as Brynn, the free-tattoo-getting, English McMuffin-having, free-loading roommate to Kristen Wiig’s character Annie in Bridesmaids.

Pitch Perfect is set to start filming next month in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
