The First Dark Shadows Trailer Arrives Online

We've been waiting for this day for a long time. For the past few weeks we here at Cinema Blend have been scratching our heads over Tim Burton's Dark Shadows. While the movie is set to debut in May, the only footage that we've seen from the film came in the form of a five-second long segment that arrived online this past Tuesday. But guess what? The time has finally come.

Ellen had the premiere of the Dark Shadows trailer on her show this afternoon and while we can probably expect the official HD preview to be released later this afternoon, for now we have a YouTube embed from the show. We'll be sure to update this post later today when Warner Bros. sends out the real one, but for now: enjoy! UPDATE: The official trailer has arrived! Watch it below and see it in HD over on Apple.

Based on the 1960s television series, Dark Shadows tells the story of Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp), a man who is turned into a vampire by a vengeful witch (Eva Green) and buried alive for centuries. Emerging in 1972, Barnabas discovers that his grand estate and family have fallen on hard times and, to make matters worse, the witch is still around. The movie also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Jonny Lee Miller, Chloe Moretz, Helena Bonham Carter, Jackie Earle Haley and Bella Heathcote. For more from the title, head over to our Blend Film Database.
