Ford in Ford's Theater in Theaters

Ever heard of Sebastian Cordero? Don't feel too bad. Seeing as how neither of his films saw the inside of more than 17 theaters in the states only the biggest film buffs are aware of him. Bet you've heard of Harrison Ford, though. Well, according to Hollywood Reporter Cordero has been selected to direct Ford's work in Manhunt, a movie about the search for John Wilkes Booth following the dramatic events of April 14, 1865. If you've never heard of him (or worse, think he's some kind of hero), then sign up for remedial history courses immediately.

The movie is based on a book that won't even been released until February of next year entitled "Manhunt : The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer". Andrew Marlowe, who wrote another of Ford's films, Airforce One, will adapt the book for the screen. Here's hoping he's getting an advance copy. He has some work to do. The movie is tentatively scheduled for a 2007 release.

Harrison Ford will play Col. Everton Conger, the man who led the hunt for Booth. I suppose there's some kind of irony that this movie, which will be in theaters and stars Ford will likely begin in Ford's Theater (insert rimshot here). Well, the movie should hit theaters a little before Indiana Jones IV. Here's hoping the two films will be a revival, not an assasination, for Harrison's floundering career.
