Fox Finds Twitter

Do you Twitter? No, this isn’t another desperate attempt to get you to follow us on yet another service. We’ve pushed our own Cinema Blend twitter feeds enough (see our About Us page if you need a reminder). Someone is being hilarious with a special Twitter feed though, and you should be following if you aren’t already.

For the past 24 hours, Fox Movies has been busting guts with their Twitter feed. Obviously this isn’t the real studio, since most of the comments wind up being rather degrading to the studio. Instead it’s clearly the work of someone who is a little unhappy about the Watchmen war going on, or is just tired of a lot of the crap Fox puts out. Their little form of retribution is to send out messages through Twitter like:

What a great year for Fox: Meet Dave, Meet the Spartans, Nim's Island, The Happening, Space Chimps and more! 2009 will be even better!

Don't worry about that whole Watchmen thing, we're pretty sure you would've hated it - we're just trying to protect you! :-)

Oh, and if you're wondering, we'll be sitting on the rights to the Halo movie for 20 years too.

Why have we kept "20th Century" in our name? Because that's when we last made consistently great films. Call it nostalgia.

Pretty funny, huh? I hesitated posting this yesterday even though lots of people were talking about it, because I didn’t expect the account to still be active 24 hours later. Sure enough they are though. Head over to twitter.com/foxmovies to keep your eye on the latest from Fox Movies (nudge, nudge). While you’re there, don’t forget to look up your good friends from Cinema Blend (okay, I couldn’t pass up one shameless promotion).
