From Little Britain To Space!

You don't know who Matt Lucas is right now, but trust me: In about two years you're going to be saying to yourself, "Man, his early stuff was good, but he needs to get away from the kid's movies!" That's because the star of the revered Little Britain will lend his voice to yet another adaptation of a children's story, this time the beloved Astro Boy.

Lucas, in case you haven't been religiously reading Cinema Blend over the last week or so (shame!), also signed on to play both Tweedledee and Tweedledum in Tim Burton's take on Alice in Wonderland. For Astro Boy, according to a press release from producer Imagi Entertainment, Lucas will join Kristen Bell, Donald Sutherland, Bill Nighy, Nathan Lane, Nicolas Cage and Freddie Highmore, in the lead role. The story is about a young robot seeking his destiny, blah blah blah-- stop me if you've heard this before. Anyway, Lucas is joining a good bunch, and hopefully his role won't be too much like Tweedledee or Tweedledum, or the typecasting will just be out of control.
