As noted by star Robert Downey Jr. as he accepted his third Golden Globe in 2010, nobody thought that Sherlock Holmes was going to be able to succeed while going up against James Cameron's Avatar, but everyone was proven wrong. While Avatar did go on to shatter box office records globally, the 2009 Guy Ritchie film not only managed to win over critics, but earned over $200 million domestically on a $90 million budget. Naturally a sequel was greenlit almost immediately, and with the release date of said sequel, titled Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, less than a month away, we have a brand new featurette that takes you behind the scenes, courtesy of Warner Bros.

In the new adventure, which brings back Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, Kelly Reilly and Eddie Marsan, while introducing Jared Harris, Noomi Rapace and Stephen Fry, the great detective faces off against one of the greatest villainous masterminds the world has ever seen: Professor James Moriarty. Directed by Guy Ritchie and written by Kieran and Michele Mulroney, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is set to arrive in theaters on December 16.
