What would you do if you stepped out of your house and saw Godzilla walking towards you. Would you just take off in the opposite direction? Would you run back inside and pray that the door locks are enough? Would you just stand their and scream? Whatever it is you'd do, apparently director Gareth Edwards wants to know.
As you can see in the video above, Legendary Pictures has launched a special new campaign that is asking all Godzilla fans to record their own special "reaction videos" - in any kind of format - and send it to them to be a part of a giant montage. The idea is simple: you and perhaps some friends get together in front of a camera, pretend to see Godzilla coming towards you, and then react in any way you want (be as ridiculous as possible). The YouTube description for the video above offers and interesting bit of advice, telling would-be filmmakers that they should try and capture local recognizable landmarks.
Need a tiny bit of inspiration? The trailer that was released earlier this week certainly provides plenty of that:
And that's just his leg! Just look at the King of the Monsters when he roars! (and don't forget that he also has that fun little ability to BREATHE FIRE)
Hell, if you want to try and stand out from the rest of the entries, maybe you can pretend that you're not only seeing Godzilla, but that you're seeing Godzilla fight the equally-monstrous Muto:
So when exactly will you be able to get scared by the original Kaiju's return to theaters? Godzilla is scheduled to arrive in domestic cinemas on May 16th, and we couldn't be more excited. The movie features an ensemble of fantastic actors in its cast, including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn, and Bryan Cranston. Even though we have seen a number of trailers, clips and footage reels at this point, we still don't know much about the core plot of the film, but we are excited to see it play out on the big screen.
