Gwen Stacy Sits Behind Enemy Lines In New Amazing Spider-Man 2 Pic
Given all that we know about OsCorp, one has to wonder why Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) would continue to work at the root of all evil things in the Amazing Spider-Man universe. After all, it is the experimentation happening at OsCorp that leads to the creation of virtually all of Spidey’s top foes. And it’s very possible the executive board at OsCorp killed Peter’s father! But Gwen still works there, as seen in the new photo shared above.
ComingSoon had the image, shared by Sony Pictures. You might recall that Gwen had a gig at OsCorp in Marc Webb’s first Spider-Man movie, and it was on her tour – or right off of it – where Peter (Andrew Garfield) snuck away and picked up the famous spider bite that changed the course of his life… forever.
Learn more about the company here (and see Gwen with Dr. Curt Connors, in happier times):
Now, things are destined to take a turn for the worse in Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, due in theaters on May 2. We know, from trailers and clips, that OsCorp is going to essentially turn Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx) into Electro by dropping him into a vat of electric eels.
The Rhino likely will be a byproduct of OsCorp testing. And Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) will capitalize on his family’s twisted research to become the Green Goblin at some point in this next sequel. It’s all a ton of world-building, getting fans ready for multiple Spider-Man movies down the line. And it all traces back to Gwen, and her gig at OsCorp, which lured Peter there in the first place.
How much longer will we have with Ms. Stacy in this universe? Gwen’s fate is no mystery for true Spider-Man fans. This might be one of the last few Emma Stone promo images we get to enjoy. Spider-Man 2 comes out in months.
