The first trailer for Relativity Media's upcoming horror movie The House at the End of the Street made its way online last March. The two-minute video began at what appeared to be the height of an intensely scary moment for Jennifer Lawrence's character, and then took us back in time, dialing back the suspense with each revealed scene until we found ourselves at the start of the story, before everything went wrong. The newest trailer released for the film takes a more linear approach.

The House at the End of the Street stars Lawrence (Winter's Bone, The Hunger Games) as Elissa, a girl who moves to a new house with her mother (Elisabeth Shue), and soon forms a relationship with Ryan (Max Thieriot), a kid whose parents were murdered by his sister years ago. Naturally, despite the passing years, the small rural town is still buzzing about the horrific situation, which may not be completely in the past after all.

iTunes posted the trailer below, which gives us a look at Elissa and her mother moving into the house, the start of Elissa's relationship with Ryan, which includes some smooches on the couch (perfect bait for horror!), and then some dark and scary moments…

"Fear will find a new home..."

Some of what we see in the above trailer was featured in the previously released trailer, however this one seems to show it all in chronological order, which is helpful. Though I will say, the backward-moving-approach in the first trailer was a cool way to tease the story.

We've seen Lawrence do adventure and action with The Hunger Games and X-Men: First Class and drama with Winter's Bone. It should be interesting to see how she does starring in a horror. From the trailers so far, it seems like she's up for the task.

The House at the End of the Street arrives in theaters September 21. More information can be found in our Blend Film Database.
