The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is still in its pre-production stage and is still in the process of adding new actors to its cast - like just a few moments ago - but Lionsgate is already looking much further into the future. Just last week it was revealed that the studio would be splitting the final book in the trilogy, Mockingjay, in two and would be releasing the film's based on those halves in 2014 and 2015, respectively. But if you think that's the only prep work they are doing right now you are mistaken. Apparently the project is coming along so quickly that director Francis Lawrence - who is helming Catching Fire - won't be able to return for the third and fourth installments. So you know what that means...

The hunt is on! According to Thompson on Hollywood, Lionsgate has already begun a hard target search to find the proper filmmaker to helm the last two movies of the popular franchise. While no specific names are given, apparently studio chiefs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger, producer Nina Jacobson and author Suzanne Collins have already begun the vetting process. Catching Fire, in the meantime, is currently gearing up for production this fall with returning stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutchinson, Liam Helmsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland and Woody Harrelson, as well as new cast members such as Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone and Amanda Plummer. The two Mockingjay movies don't have scheduled dates for start of production, but The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I will come out on November 21, 2014 and Part II is set for November 20th, 2015.

This isn't exactly a surprise, considering both Harry Potter and Twilight went through multiple directors creating their respective successful franchises. But once again the question comes up: who would you like to see direct the movie? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
