Kathryn Hahn Joins Ben Stiller In The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty

Nowadays it's hard to watch anything funny without seeing Kathryn Hahn. In the past few years she's been all over the place in terms of movies and television and she's done terrific in all of them (particularly her latest stint on Parks and Recreation). I hope you're all enjoying it because she's just signed on to another part that will keep her career going strong.

THR reports that Hahn is officially attached to play a part in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, the remake of the 1947 Danny Kaye film. Ben Stiller is already attached to play the titular character, a man who lives a boring life but constantly daydreams of thrilling adventures. One day, however, he discovers a missing negative and finds himself thrust into the adventurous world he always dreamed of. The movie will have Hahn playing Mitty's sister, who is helping to move the main character's mother (played by Shirley MacLaine) into a retirement home. Kristin Wiig, Adam Scott, and Patton Oswalt are all in the film as well. Stiller will be directing himself and the current plan is to start production this spring in Vancouver.

UPDATE: Deadline says Josh Charles has joined the cast as well.

Say what you will about the choices Ben Stiller makes as an actor, the truth is that he's a much better director. He seems to save all of the best material for himself, like Tropic Thunder and Zoolander. He's already established a great cast here, now we'll just have to wait and see if he can pull off the magic from the original.
