New MicMacs Trailer Dazzles

You may not be aware of it, but Jean-Pierre Jeunet, acclaimed director of Amelie, is back in true form with his latest film Micmacs a Tire-Larigot. The film warranted great reviews at SXSW and is now creeping closer and closer to its domestic (albeit limited) release on May 28th, with a showing opening night at the San Francisco Film Festival April 22nd.

To promote the upcoming release, a trailer has been loosed upon the internet by IMDb, fresh with English title cards and flashy new graphics. It'd be an understatement to say that this film looks incredible. Jeunet's visual style is beautiful and eccentric in a way i can only compare to that of the incomparable Terry Gilliam. If you haven't seen The City of Lost Children, it's a dark, brilliantly surreal look at a scientist who steals the dreams of young children. You can also catch a much younger Ron Perlman among the cast.

Micmacs promises that Jeunet has continued his trend of created amazingly visual worlds in which to tell his astounding stories, so check out the trailer over at IMDb and be amazed by one of the truly great filmmakers working today.
