Paranormal Activity 4 To Get Early Screenings In 25 Cities

With the Paranormal Activity 4 trailer officially released, giving us some clues to speculate on as to the official plot for the found footage horror film, fans of the franchise have even more reason to celebrate the approaching sequel. PA4 is due to release in theaters October 19, however Paramount is setting up a promotion that will bring the film to 25 cities around the world ahead of its scheduled release.

Paramount has set up a "Want it" application on its Facebook page, which allows fans to connect and request an early screening of Paranormal Activity 4. If you're logged into Facebook when you visit the app, you'll see that it already detects your location (assuming you have your current city listed on your Facebook profile). And according to Paramount's announcement, " Votes will be shared on a fan’s page and automatically posted to the Facebook newsfeed to rally their peers to bring the film to their city first too." Right now, it looks like Lake Bluff, IL has the lead, with over 40,000 votes cast in total so far. Purchase, NY is second, and Fresno, CA is coming in third. Some bigger cities are on the list as well. If you're hoping to see PA4 come to your city early, you may want to get voting and spread the word.

Voting ends October 11 at noon PST. The date and time of the early screenings hasn't been announced yet, but that's coming soon and it's probably safe to assume it'll take place at some point during the week leading up to the official October 19 release. The winning cities will be posted on the film's Facebook page, as well as ParanormalMovie.com. They'll let people know how to RSVP to your city if it makes the list once the voting ends.

Finally, in case you didn't see it, you can watch the Paranormal Activity 4 trailer here . While it doesn't give away a whole lot about the plot of the movie beyond the concept of more scary things happening to someone recording the incidents, some speculation shared by our commenters has me thinking toddler Hunter from PA2 might be featured in the plot of the latest sequel in some way. It seems like a possibility, based on what's shown in the trailer and the way it ends, but it's still just a guess at this point. What do you think?
