Parental Guidance Exclusive Blu-ray Bonus Clip Gets Hammy With Technology

Parental Guidance stars Billy Crystal and Bette Midler, who are now both old enough to play grandparents in a movie where former young whippersnapper Tom Everett Scott now plays a parent. The hammy comedy is a family friendly endeavor that makes the most of Midler and Crystal’s characters, and as the exclusive Blu-ray bonus clip above notes, even when the movie skews toward an older audience, there’s enough Yo Gabba Gabba references to include the younger folks, too.

In Parental Guidance, a worn-out couple (Marisa Tomei and Scott) decides to get out of town for the weekend, but unfortunately, the favored grandparents aren’t available to babysit. They eventually opt to bring Crystal and Midler’s characters in to watch over their two little darlings. The kids and the grandparents don’t get along at first, but through some teaching moments and a variety of wacky circumstances, the relationships in the film begin to evolve. If you didn’t catch the flick in theaters, 20th Century Fox is bringing the film to Blu-ray and DVD today.

Parental Guidance comes with all the basic sorts of bonus features, from audio commentary to deleted scenes and a gag reel. There may not be a lot of pizzaz in the extras, but the movie isn’t a particularly expensive purchase, with Blu-ray copies running for $39.99 and DVD copies running even cheaper. Plus, Amazon is already running a sale on the set, so if you did like the film, now may be the time to pick it up. You can check out the full list of extras, below.
