Pick The Nominees For The MTV Movie Awards

You've got to hand it to the MTV Movie Awards. Even though they take place in May, well after all the other awards ceremonies have wrapped up, they earn their keep by including categories like "Best Kiss" and "Best WTF Moment," and usually offer a greater likelihood of unscripted hilarity.

Plus, they know and respect their audience. For the first time ever this year, fans will be allowed to help choose the nominees for the awards, along with voting on the final results. You can find all the information you need here, as well as a link to the eligible nominees in each category. Some are depressing-- there are four women total nominated for Best Comedic Perforrmance, and two of them were in Bride Wars-- and some are just baffling-- how did Miss March show up so many times? But mostly it's a good selection of movies MTV fans are likely to have seen in the last year, with Seth Rogen very, very well-represented.

The MTV Movie awards long ago stopped being must-see viewing for me, but at least this year's host, Andy Samberg, points to the show still staying relevant. Now if only my write-in campaign for Wall-E and Eve for Best Kiss could have a chance of succeeding....
