Resident Evil: Retribution is the fifth film in the Resident Evil series, and the second in the series to be shot in 3D. After landing in theaters in September, the film has pulled in a tidy $220 million worldwide, and now Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is bringing the film to 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on December 21.

The Resident Evil movies are based on a series of successful video games of the same name. If you are reading this article, that last sentence was probably not new information, but it’s precisely because the fans of the series are often so fervent about the movies, that it’s easy to see why Sony Pictures Home Entertainment would design a Resident Evil: Retribution set specifically for those who are huge fans of the film. That being said, this set will come with multiple buying options, each with a slew of bonus features.

Normally, it’s a huge bummer when DVD copies will come with fewer special features than Blu-ray sets. However, in this case, DVD buyers can hardly complain. Although DVD purchasers will get fewer extras than the Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray sets, they will still get multiple commentaries, a featurette and outtakes. I’ve seen far, far worse. On the bright side, fans who do spring for the 3D Blu-ray or Blu-ray sets, should be getting more extras than their wildest Blu-ray dreams might entail. You can check out the full list, below.
