Now that Shawn Levy’s ready to begin shooting The Internship, the casting process continues to hum along at a high speed. We previously reported that Max Minghella and Teen Wolf co-star Dylan O’Brien would join Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn in the corporate comedy. Well, Levy’s ready to add a Bridesmaid to the mix.

Rose Byrne could be cast as a high-powered executive who breaks the rules by romancing Wilson’s character, a lowly intern, according to EW.com. Though Byrne’s reps say no deal has been struck yet, the actress is in the fold at 20th Century Fox – where Internship is set up – having starred in the recent X-Men prequel First Class for director Matthew Vaughn.

Byrne might be best known for her dramatic work on Damages or her roles in the horror flicks Insidious and 28 Weeks Later, but she embraced a difficult role in Bridesmaids -- playing the wicked foil to the ridiculously funny Kristen Wiig – and knocking it out of the park. It’s great to see her being given another chance at what’s shaping up to be a solid comedy.

For those unaware, The Internship reunites Wedding Crashers co-stars Vaughn and Wilson as unemployed 40-somethings who attempt to reinvent themselves professionally by joining a competitive internship program at a cutting-edge tech corporation. Levy (Date Night) will direct, and begins shooting on July 9. The movie doesn’t have a release date yet, but with Fox ramping up the casting and production about to get underway, we can expect hat announcement shortly.
