Mireille Enos and Scott Speedman are best known for their respective work on the small screen, but now they're making the jump to features. The two actors are the latest performers to join the cast of Queen of the Night, joining Ryan Reynolds. The thriller follows a father (Reynolds) who has been forced to spent eight years trying to get over his daughter's abduction and assumed death. But when he discovers a series of "disturbing clues" he begins to believe that his daughter is actually still alive.
Deadline, which reported the casting news, says that Enos will be playing the part of Reynolds' wife, who is just as just as grief stricken (the site adds that the character "dutifully checks in with police each year on her daughter’s birthday"). She becomes involved with the plot when she realizes that events at her work place are also clues about her daughter. Speedman meanwhile will play a cop working the missing girl case. Atom Egoyan is directing the film and production is scheduled to begin in the first few months of 2013.
Enos, who was doing one-off episodes of various television series before landing major roles in HBO's Big Love and AMC's The Killing, will next be seen in Ruben Fleischer's Gangster Squad as well as Egoyan's Devil's Knot. In the summer she has Marc Forster's World War Z with Brad Pitt coming out and she is currently in production on David Ayer's Ten.
Speedman most recently played XO Sam Kendal in the Shawn Ryan co-created series Last Resort, and will next star in Barefoot with Evan Rachel Wood and Beyond Apollo with Ali Larter.
