Though Channing Tatum has been the centerpiece of the Magic Mike marketing so far, thanks to his dual hits of The Vow and 21 Jump Street and his all-around awesomeness, his story isn't actually the center of Magic Mike, at least as far as we know. Sure, he's the title character, but the plot has been described being more about Alex Pettyfer's character, a young guy who starts up in the world of male stripping and who learns everything from Magic Mike. Pettyfer's been weirdly absent from the marketing so far-- he didn't even make this stunning EW cover-- but he finally gets his story told in the new international Magic Mike trailer, which you can watch below.

Not only does this trailer feel more truthful to the actual story of the movie, it's way more over-the-top and fun, from Channing Tatum's pelvis-thrusting in time to Rihanna's "We Found Love" to that final shot of the guys stripping down to thongs while an American flag drops in front of them. There's also my favorite line from any of the trailers so far, in which Matthew McConaughey explains the law is that you can't touch any of the strippers… "But think I see a lot of lawbreakers up in this house." And finally, they reveal that one of Matthew Bomer's dances is as a "living doll," like Ken coming out of his box. What's not to like?!?

I'm already on the record as having Magic Mike as my most anticipated summer movie, both for the crazy novelty of a male stripper movie and how utterly unpredictable this movie looks. Even if male strippers aren't really your thing, you have to admit how damn fun this looks. Magic Mike opens June 29, so you'll know where to find me.
