Skeletons of the Zahara

Skeletons of the Zahara: A True Story of Survival hit the bookstores in March and Dreamworks can’t wait to bring it to the big screen!

Skeletons of the Zahara is the true story of American sailors that were shipwrecked off the coast of North Africa in 1815. The sailers tried to go through the forests to find a way to be rescued but almost died due to dehydration. To make matters worse, they were sold into slavery when found.

Dreamworks is partnering with Intermedia, Baltimore Pictures, and Creed Productions. No director has been hired yet but Paula Weinstein and Barry Levinson will produce. Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro are working on the screenplay. Dreamwoks hopes to begin filming later this year.
