Though there was no official panel for the upcoming James Bond movie Skyfall at Comic Con this week, a handful of people including Eric attended an event called "IMAX remix," in which they saw a brand-new trailer for the movie that showed off our first look at Ben Whishaw as Q, as well as a lot of glimpses at the action in the film. It got a lot of people even more excited about Skyfall than before, so I'm even happier than usual to see a new video blog from behind the scenes, this one focusing on Bond's famed car, the Aston Martin. Take a look below:

Of course most of the talking about how important the Aston Martin is is what you expect-- I mean, yeah, he's James Bond-- but it's intriguing to hear Sam Mendes mention the last section of the film, and how it "deliberately, very consciously, could have taken place in 1962." When I visited the set in Istanbul in the spring, there was a lot of talk about hearkening back to the classic Bond, but this is the first I've heard that the film is deliberately shot in a way that evokes the past. After a lot of years of deliberately trying to update Bond for a new era, could a return to the past be exactly what we need?

We'll hopefully have many more behind-the-scenes featurettes to share with you as we get closer and closer to Skyfall's November 9 release date.
