Trailer For Zhang Yimou's Remake Of Blood Simple

The Coen Brothers' first film, Blood Simple, was the story of a duplicitous woman, her lover, and a jealous husband who wants both of them dead. The film is a neo-noir of the highest order and started the career of two of the best filmmakers working today. In his remake, it appears Zhang Yimou has done his best to pay full homage to the original.

Yahoo! has posted the first trailer for A Woman, a Gun and a Noodle Shop. Mixing both the Coens' dark story with incredible visuals and color seen in his previous films, the remake looks stunning and fascinating at the same time. There is very little dialogue to explain the plot of the film outside of a husband hiring a man to kill his cheating wife, but you'll be so distracted by the imagery that you won't have time to care.

Check out the trailer below or in HD over at Yahoo!

A Woman, a Gun and a Noodle Shop will be given a limited released on September 3rd.
