Even if you haven't been hearing the likes of Eric Eisenberg and seemingly everybody else on the Internet raving about it, you probably know that Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive is one of the must-see movies of the fall. The impressive cast features Albert Brooks, Carey Mulligan, Christina Hendricks and Ron Perlman, but most important of all is Ryan Gosling, playing a getaway driver who's cut from the same cloth as so many American movie heroes: quiet, imposing, slightly romantic, tough, and endlessly fascinating.

Gosling's unnamed driver character is a totally unique creation, of course, but also a familiar type from many movies we've seen before. YouTube user ChiefBrodyRules has taken advantage of that similarity to amazing effect by mashing up the trailer for Drive with Han Solo's greatest hits in Star Wars. You really have to watch this below.

For comparison you can also see the Drive trailer below, though I challenge you now to look at Albert Brooks and not see Jabba the Hutt instead. Drive is very much an independent movie, coming to theaters in September with a film festival pedigree, but this kind of trailer mash-up proves it's already reached a level of cultural ubiquity most indies never achieve. Since the movie is legitimately great, that's only a good thing. You can see Drive in theaters come September 16.
