It’s been a few months since Jeremy Renner showed us a new side to the Bourne story, and it seemed as if The Bourne Legacy should be coming to Blu-ray and DVD sometime fairly soon. As it turns out, my gut feelings were correct, and Universal Studios Home Entertainment will be bringing the action-packed flick onto Blu-ray, DVD, digital, and On Demand on December 11. If you need a bit of refresher on the plot of the newest installation in the franchise, the studio has been gracious enough to extend us a trailer for the release, below.

I certainly appreciate that the trailer doesn’t try to highlight ridiculous extras like Ultraviolet and a Digital Copy that by now are coming pretty standard with Blu-ray combo packs (this release has both), instead waiting until the end to use any voiceover tactics and letting the movie speak for itself. That said, The Bourne Legacy trailer makes the movie look like a fun ride with a bit less spirit than the Matt Damon-led films, which is exactly what the movie is.

If you did appreciate the film, the release looks pretty solid, bringing in all kinds of behind-the-scenes looks at the film, and including plenty of commentary and deleted scenes. The other bonus is that if you choose to spring for the DVD over the Blu-ray, you should have a pretty solid set of extras to go along with the film. Let’s face it, The Bourne Legacy won’t be made or broken on the merits of it’s Blu-ray quality, and this one would probably be a nice enough purchase on DVD.
