Subscribe To Justice League Casts A Welsh Star In A Mysterious New Role Updates
The fact that several people, including our own Sean O'Connell, recently made a trip to the set of Justice League means that we know more about it than we do many other upcoming films. That doesn't mean the film doesn't have secrets. There are still many things we don't know about how Justice League will come together, and now there's a new mystery, as Welsh actor Julien Lewis Jones has just been cast in a new role.
Julien Lewis Jones has starred in numerous UK films and television shows but has also had roles in a handful of Hollywood releases previously, including Clint Eastwood's Invictus and Zero Dark Thirty. As with pretty much every casting decision that's made, the actor is not allowed to discuss what role he's been cast in for Justice League. Even his hint doesn't tell us much.
While it would actually be surprising if Justice League becomes the most expensive film ever made, it's certainly expected to cost a pretty penny. That's not surprising. What's unclear here is if Julien Lewis Jones is trying to say something about his own role being an expensive one to shoot. If so, it could point to his part being that of an Atlantean, or some other being who's character requires significant digital effects. However, it's just as possible that these two comments are not related.
He also talks to Wales Online about all the various place that the film has been shooting in Europe, which does seem to imply that his role is one of significant size, not a simple cameo. The biggest role of that type that we know hasn't been cast yet, is the villain of the film, Steppenwolf. According to our set visit info from a couple weeks ago, that role was close to being set, so maybe that's who Jones will be. It's as good a guess as any at this point.
Here's a short clip of Jones from the BBC series Stella.
