Deleted Neighbors 2 Scene Reveals Who Jenny Slate Played In The Sequel, Watch It Now

Against all odds, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising hit theaters earlier this summer and actually managed to blow us away. A progressive balance of vulgar humor and smart writing, the sequel to 2014's frat house hit even managed to garner a respectable 62% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Not many comedy sequels can say that. However, not every great character from the movie managed to make it into the theatrical cut. CinemaBlend has obtained an exclusive deleted scene from Neighbors 2 showcasing comedienne Jenny Slate's cut character. Check it out below.

If you find yourself furious that the above scene didn't make it into the final cut of Universal's sorority centric sequel, don't worry; you're not alone. In a short but sweet sequence, Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne) goes into her office to tell one of her workplace friends (Jenny Slate) that she will have to quit soon to take care of her newborn baby. Slate's character -- clearly a meek and shy person -- takes the news incredibly hard, and begins to choke up as Kelly tries to talk her down. Emotion eventually gets the best of them, as they both start crying -- only for Slate's character to break her shy demeanor and punctuate the entire scene by screaming "motherfucker!" Did I mention that Neighbors 2 is a hilarious movie?

Although she's almost unrecognizable in this Neighbors 2 role, Jenny Slate has slowly but surely established herself as one of the best female comedians working today. A graduate from the Upright Citizens Brigade, she has been featured on numerous hit comedy series, from Saturday Night Live, to Kroll Show, to even Drunk History. And that's her small screen career. Although she's relatively new to the realm of film, she has made a very big impression recently -- particularly within the voice acting world. With credits on recent hits like Zootopia, The Secret Life of Pets, and now Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, we have a feeling that she has only just begun to show what she's truly capable of on the silver screen.

Of course, to this day her most famous role continues to be the voice of Marcel in the viral short film Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, which premiered back in 2010:

It's a shame that this particular scene didn't make it into the final cut of Neighbors 2, but we're beyond excited that it still gets to see the light of day. CinemaBlend will bring you all of the latest and greatest news related to the upcoming home release of Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising as more information becomes available. The film will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on September 20.
