What The Current Wonder Woman Artist Thinks Of The New Movie

Wonder Woman lifting tank

It's been a long road to get here but the Wonder Woman movie is now less than a week from releasing in theaters. The film has an almost unfair amount of pressure on it, not only to prove the viability of a good film backed by a strong female lead but also to "save" the DCEU, as some have put it. Thankfully, early word of mouth has been positive and now more have gotten a chance to see the movie. Liam Sharp, the artist of the current Wonder Woman comic series, had only glowing things to say after his screening. According to him...

There's so much to love about this movie. Gal is particularly good at the guileless, fish-out-of-water humor, and she's just extremely charming. It has -much like Indiana Jones - that Saturday morning matinee feel, adventure for all the family. And, in the end, it's all about hope and love - and we could all do with a bit of that. Looking forward to seeing it again!

Wonder Woman recently screened for a number of comic book writers and artists, some of which have worked on different Wonder Woman comics in the past. Liam Sharp is just one of the latest, having drawn the newest Wonder Woman comic with Greg Rucka (a very good series that I recommend checking out) for the last year. Sharp shared his thoughts on the movie with Forbes and he only had positive things to say. No. 1 on his list of praises was for Gal Gadot, who not only kills it in the charm category but was also nails the humor. Comparing the film to Indiana Jones, Sharp believes Wonder Woman is like a classic adventure film all about two core traits of the character: hope and love.

One could argue that there is some level of bias from Liam Sharp -- being a DC artist for Wonder Woman and all -- but we can probably take his words at face value. His comments line up pretty well with what's been previously said about the film, with just about everyone highlighting Gal Gadot's performance, as well as her chemistry with Chris Pine. Some critics have been careful to note that it isn't without its hiccups every now and again, but all in all, it's a very enjoyable movie for everyone to enjoy.

Everyone will be able to make up their own minds about the film when it finally hits theaters later this week on June 2. Until then, to learn as much as you can about the movie, make sure to check out everything we know about Wonder Woman.
