Cool New Avengers: Infinity War Posters Still Don’t Feature Hawkeye

Update: These posters do not seem to be official, but for fan art they are still pretty flipping cool. Check back for more Hawkeye updates.

Avengers: Infinity War is almost here and that means it's nearly time to see all your favorite Marvel heroes in one place. Unless your favorite hero is Hawkeye, then you might be screwed. A whole collection of new character posters have been released ahead of the film's April 27 debut, but our favorite archer is conspicuous by his absence. Hawkeye doesn't get a poster. This is becoming a problem. Check out the complete collection below.

Avengers: Infinity War posters

Hawkeye has always been the Avenger that seems to get the least amount of respect. True, he doesn't actually have superpowers, his primary skill is that he's just really good with a bow, but still, he is an Avenger and you'd think that should count for something. Still, while we know that Jeremey Renner was on set, and thus, is part of the big superhero blowout, we have seen nothing of him in the promotion of Avengers: Infinity War.

To be fair, Hawkeye isn't the only hero being left out of the new poster collection. We don't see Ant-Man or Black Panther either, and we do know for a fact that Black Panther is in the movie, as we've seen him appear in the trailers alongside Captain America. It's just sort of odd to see Mantis, a character that was just introduced in a single movie less than a year ago, get her own poster when characters that have made multiple MCU appearances over the years have been left out.

There are a handful of other interesting bits of trivia among the posters that we do have. Elizabeth Olsen's character is called Scarlet Witch, a name she has never been officially given within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sebastian Stan's character is called Bucky rather than Winter Soldier, an indication that the deprogramming he underwent in Wakanda beginning at the end of Captain America: Civil War has apparently been successful. Spider-Man is called Iron Spider. We knew from the trailer that Peter Parker would be putting on Tony Stark's new costume in the new film, but apparently, the costume change means we're not even supposed to call him Spider-Man anymore. Also, Groot gets a poster with a red background rather than a black one. This is likely because his coloring wouldn't have shown up very well on a black background, but feel free to read something more sinister into it.

Jeremy Renner has said that he'll be in Avengers: Infinity War, so it doesn't seem that Hawkeye's exclusion is because he's not part of the movie. But if it isn't, then it's just because the character is getting dissed by the marketing department at Marvel. C'mon guys, Hawkeye has paid his dues, give the man a little respect, he is really good with that bow.
