Subscribe To See The Emotional Poster Avengers: Endgame Will Gift Fans For The Re-Release Updates
It’s been a few days since we learned Avengers: Endgame would be getting a big re-release in theaters, complete with new stuff for fans. Although the latest Marvel flick hasn’t actually left theaters yet, the re-release is coming at a good time, just ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home. In addition, presumably it will double as a way to inch Endgame closer to Avatar’s 2009 box office record.
In order to sweeten the pot and get butts in seats, Marvel has revealed the Bring Back event will include an introduction from co-director Anthony Russo, an unfinished deleted scene from the film, a Spider-man: Far From Home “sneak peek” and this heartbreaking poster that you will get to take home with you and should already be making you feel all the feels. Check it out.
Normally posters for movies can be cool or silly, but they often aren't nearly as affecting as the poster above, which is only able to be so affecting because Marvel has thrown spoiler caution to the wind at this point. (And why not? The movie's been out since the end of April and we're quickly approaching July!)
Still, now I'll mention there are spoilers in this paragraph, in case someone is still reading this article without knowing what's up. Although, in that case, even Tom Holland believes you are "living under a rock." With the loss of Tony Stark still fresh on our minds as we head into Spider-Man: Far From Home, this poster really knows how to tear into us a bit. It’s a reminder that Tony Stark won’t be forgotten in the future of the MCU and it’s an opportunity for fans to get to see the beloved character on the big screen one more time.
And, you know, for Marvel and Disney to make more money on a movie that had such an impact on both the MCU and pop culture.
The re-release will start on June 28 at participating theaters. This is actually a little bit similar to the PG-13 cut Once Upon A Deadpool, which came out late last year and did not do that well at the box office. In the case of Avengers: Endgame, the re-release is coming almost right away when the movie is still pretty fresh on people’s minds. We’ll see if it works.
In the meantime, although there is a re-release coming to theaters, Avengers: Endgame is also working its way toward a home release. So far, news has been mum about the traditional DVD + Digital release, although Blu-ray and other releases often come around three months after a theatrical run. Given this re-release, that’s more up in the air; however, Disney did announce that Avengers: Endgame will be heading to Disney+ at the tail end of 2019.
Meanwhile, Disney+ has still yet to launch, but if you aren’t caught up on Disney’s current deal with Netflix and what will be going on with the streaming service following 2019, we have you covered.
There’s plenty of additional Avengers: Endgame news that will likely come down the pipeline as the summer continues, but in the meantime, we love you 3000. No really, thanks for reading.
