Game Of Thrones’ Kit Harington Knows Exactly What Harry Potter Character He'd Like To Play
It's almost hard to believe, but it's been a number of months since Game of Thrones concluded. HBO's fantasy drama was a pop culture phenomenon over its eight season on the air, making the starring cast household names in the process. Kit Harington is a prime example of this, as fans really responded to Jon Snow's journey through Westeros. Harington will make his Marvel debut with The Eternals, but he recently revealed the Harry Potter character he'd be interested in playing: Severus Snape.
Kit Harington has already played one beloved literary underdog, and it looks like he would be down to play Snape if he got the chance. While the role was played to perfection by the late Alan Rickman throughout the Harry Potter franchise, but the Fantastic Beasts are a prequel that has already included Dumbledore and McGonagall. At a recent convention appearance, Harrington was asked which character from the Wizarding World he'd like to play, and he quickly answered Snape. The 32 year-old actor went on to explain his love for Hogwarts' Potions Master, saying:
Jon Snow ain't wrong. Snape is one of the most dynamic characters to come from the Harry Potter franchise, and the audience's perspective of the tragic figure changes throughout the years, especially in The Deathly Hallows. And that's exactly why Kit Harington would love to dive into the character in a prequel movie-- if the opportunity ever presented itself.
Kit Harington's recent comments at ACE Comic Con (via Winter is Coming) are sure to excite fans of both Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. Harington is a super popular actors, and his followers would be thrilled to see him in another iconic fantasy series. The Harry Potter franchise only continues to grow, with J.K. Rowling expanding the Wizarding World in the Fantastic Beats movies, Cursed Child plays, Pottermore, and Universal's theme parks. Harington potentially joining is exciting enough, let alone as a beloved figure like Severus Snape.

Of course, Kit Harington was only mentioning his favorite character, and isn't actually up for any role that. The Fantastic Beasts movies are set decades before the events of the Wizarding War, and Harry Potter's time in Hogwarts. But as time continues moving forward, we move closer and closer to Snape's own time at Hogwarts, and his unrequited love of Lilly Potter.
Luckily for fans of the Jon Snow actor, he's got another huge role coming up, this time on the big screen. Kit Harington will play Black Knight aka Dane Whitman , a sword-wielding superhero. He'll be able to use certain talents he picked up in Westeros, while also creating a wholly new character alongside a killer cast, and within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
