Wonder Woman Is Swinging From Lightning In 1984 Trailer Tease And Fans Are Losing It

That Wonder Woman sure knows how to make an entrance! DC's sequel is called Wonder Woman 1984 and you probably know the first official trailer is coming tomorrow during CCXP Brazil. [UPDATE: Here's the first official trailer. It's amazing!] Well, we got a little teaser today and fans are already freaking out about that shot of Diana Prince swinging through lightning:

Hey, maybe Shazam showed up to help? Probably not, but Wonder Woman 1984's mini tease -- with that lightning lasso -- left fans very curious to know what's up:

Ridiculously epic might sum this whole thing up. After all, the DC Comics movie is set in the 1980s, and if the title didn't remind you, the music at the end of the tease should have. Everything in the '80s was cheesy and ridiculous, but the movie should also be big colorful (hair) fun. Then again, not everything was fun -- and Wonder Woman 1984 will have the backdrop of the Cold War.

Kristen Wiig joins the cast as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah with The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal finally confirmed to be playing Maxwell Lord. Chris Pine is back as Steve Trevor, even though we saw what happened to him in the World War I timeline of Wonder Woman.

The full Wonder Woman 1984 trailer will be shared amid the WW84 CCXP Twitter Live Stream Panel with director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot. The live stream starts Sunday, December 8 at 12:30 p.m. PT / 3:30 p.m. ET and will be followed by the trailer debut.

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins pushed for the movie to come out this coming summer so they could keep the June date that was certainly lucky for them with Gal Gadot's first movie. But then when the movie was in post-production she regretted asking to wait until June since she's excited for fans to see the results.
