In short, Adventure Time wore him out. Not the creation of new worlds and characters, it was the dealing with people, and requests, and pressures of being a showrunner.

Oh my glob, great news: Cartoon Network is renewing five of its animated series. On Friday, the network announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Adventure Time, Regular Show, Uncle Grandpa, Steven Universe and newcomer Clarence have all gotten additional episode orders.

Adventure Time is gearing up for its fifth season finale next week, and we now have a look at a very intense moment for Jake that involves a voice appearance by Andy Samberg. Who's the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star playing in the Cartoon Network animated series? A rapping bear of course!

The Adventure Time panel opened with a sweet Lego version of the titles before creator Pendleton Ward came on stage to introduce the cast in attendance including Jeremy Shada, John DiMaggio, Tom Kenny and Olivia Olson as well as some behind the scenes talent like Kent Osborne, Rebecca Sugar and Adam Muto. And a special guest!

For the passionate TV fan, it's not difficult to find great TV-related panels at Comic-Con. In fact, the real challenge is trying to figure out how to get to all of the great panels in a given day, which is virtually impossible. When it comes down to it, it's all about prioritizing. And Friday's schedule is a prime example. Is it possible to get to the Adventure Time panel at the Hilton and also make The Walking Dead panel over in Hall H?

This summer should be a good one for Cartoon Network fans. The network known for some animated greats is bringing a few of those greats to Blu-ray and DVD this summer. On June 4, the Cartoon Network Enterprises is releasing Adventure Time: The Complete Second Season on to Blu-ray and DVD. Just a few weeks later, the company will release Regular Show: The Complete First and Second Seasons on to Blu-ray and DVD.

Netflix is getting a lot more fun with its latest crop of new additions, it's Adventure Time! Come on and grab your friends… The streaming video subscription service has secured deals with Turner's Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, which means Adventure Time, Robot Chicken, Regular Show and a number of other great animated and live-action series are now available to streaming subscribers. The announcement also included word that the first season of TNT's Dallas is now available streaming.

Netflix is always working to bring new streaming content to the table and on Monday, the home entertainment company announced it has worked out a deal for complete seasons of Cartoon Network, Warner Bros. Animation, and Adult Swim. Additionally, just to shake things up a bit, fans will also be treated to episodes of TNT’s Dallas.

In addition to playing Marcy Runkle in Californication and Pamela in Louie's first two seasons, she's provided her voice to a number of roles, including recent seasons of Thundercats, Beavis and Butt-Head and Bob's Burgers. Next up, it looks like we'll be hearing her among the principal voice cast for IFC's upcoming animated original series Out There.

WayForward Technologies has completed the first gameplay trailer for Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!. The game, based on a Nickelodeon animated series, is definitely drawing inspiration from the 8-bit era.

I know hardcore fans of Adventure Time praise the show for this sort of goofiness and bold anti-storytelling. Here’s an ugly truth, though. This show isn’t so much bold and new as it is a throwback to those good ol’ days of animation you hear old people talk about sometimes (you know, when we bother to listen to them). Adventure Time is a direct descendant of Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, the Pink Panther, and Heckle & Jeckle.

Get a map. Visit the booths. Get a prize. Sounds like an adventure fit for Finn the Human and Jake the Dog!

Just yesterday, while babysitting my nephews, I had my first experience with Adventure Time, a show they give the same kind of blank-faced focus I once exercised in my own youth, during Saturday mornings when TV became a virtual buffet of animated content (this was before Netflix and whole channels dedicated to cartoons, kids). My sister tells me her husband is also a fan of this animated series, which follows a boy and his best friend Jake (a dog with special powers) and their adventures in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo.
