In the past, Kristen Stewart has said she hopes society gets to the point where people stop asking questions about the sexuality of celebrities. But, for now, the 27-year-old movie star is willing to provide answers about hers. In a recent interview, for example, Stewart responded to a question about whether or not she would ever again date men. Stewart confirmed she would and hinted she remains curious when it comes to romance. She explained,
Yeah, totally. Definitely ... Some people aren't like that. Some people know that they like grilled cheese and they'll eat it every day for the rest of their lives. I want to try everything. If I have grilled cheese once, I'm like, 'That was cool, what's next?'
Hmm. While witty, this "cheesy" comment from Harper's Bazaar seems like one that would lead Kristen Stewart's model girlfriend, Stella Maxwell, to roll her eyes. After all, the two have been together at least since the 2016 Met Gala, and although they might not be at the marriage stage, they did just crash a wedding together. But now the question is what does Kristen Stewart see as an alternative to grilled cheese? (Maybe Totino's?)
Regardless, it is refreshing when celebrities are honest about their sexuality, and in the article, Kristen Stewart comes across as someone who has found comfort in honesty. Stewart talked about what it was like growing up as a tomboy. She said other kids teased her about her appearance and told her she looked like a man. Back then, Stewart felt a deep sense of shame when kids bullied her, but now she looks back and wishes she could encourage her younger self to feel proud of being different.
Nowadays, Stewart appears to have reached a sense of confidence not only about her looks but also about her love life, and since coming out, Kristen Stewart seems happy and relaxed. For example, she was at ease (perhaps too at ease) when she hosted Saturday Night Live this year and, in front of millions of viewers, said, "I'm so gay." In fact, her episode turned out to be one of the highest-rated episodes of the season, and her typical awkwardness took a backseat for self-deprecating humor.
Kristen Stewart previously indicated she felt like she had to hide aspects of herself when she was dating men. She talked about feeling like people scrutinized the ins and outs of her relationships, so she went silent about dating guys like Robert Pattinson. On the other hand, when Stewart began dating women, she decided not to hide anymore. Stewart has said she realized hiding a relationship with a woman could make some people think she felt ashamed, which she did not.
So, Kristen Stewart came out of the closet, and now she is more confident than ever. We'll be there every step of the way as she follows her heart and has what she wants, be it grilled cheese or something else on the menu.
