Anyone who ever received a ring -- or gotten down on one knee to extend one -- has a proposal story. Though most of them don't end like this. As it was revealed on Twitter, the marriage proposal between Allison Barron and Levi Bliss took an unusual turn when Allison's father, Jake, interrupted their desert marriage proposal with a sign stating "SAY NO" in bold black letters. It was a joke, however, and the story quickly turned viral. Here's a look at the proposal that shook the Internet.
Due to the uniqueness of the situation, it didn't take long for this quirky little proposal story to become a viral sensation. There are further details explaining what exactly happened here. As they told it, Allison Barron and Levi Bliss were dating for two years when they decided to take their relationship to the next level. They first met as students at the University of Nevada in Reno. Since then, they've remained completely enamored with one another. On March 24th, Levi told Allison they were going to meet Allison's parents for breakfast. During their trip, Levi popped the question. Allison found herself completely overwhelmed by the marriage proposal, and she said it was like a dream come true. Here's what she said to People:
Cute story, right? Well, Jake Barron decided to spice it up. Seen from afar, Jake was hiding out of plain sight with both sets of parents. They were both clued in about it, and they were simply waiting for the big moment to arrive. Sure enough, as soon as Levi Bliss got down on one knee in front of the future Mrs. Bliss, Jake made his appearance with his big, now infamous sign that read, "SAY NO." Jake received Levi's blessing in his daughter's hand in marriage, but Levi wasn't expecting this additional measure from his future father-in-law. Nevertheless, the couple appreciated the well-timed joke.
Here's what Allison Barron -- soon to be Allison Bliss -- had to say about her father's unexpected visual gag. (It's also worth noting that Jake Barron and Levi Bliss have bonded over the past two years since he started dating his daughter and that there are seemingly no ill-feelings towards the two.)
Sure enough, as soon as Allison Barron posted the picture, it quickly became an Internet smash. Now that she's engaged and Twitter famous, however, Allison has more goals in mind for the future. Always thinking ahead.
We'll have to wait and see if Allison Barron gets accepted onto the daytime talk show. In the meantime, many blessings to the happy couple... even if everyone maybe isn't in favor of their good tidings.
