Bankrupt Former NFL Star Warren Sapp Wants Change In Child Support Payments
NFL legend Warren Sapp has at least five baby mamas. During his long, illustrious career as a defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders, these mouths to feed weren’t a problem. Unfortunately, thanks to some reckless spending and bad business decisions, paying for all his commitments eventually became impossible. The bruising former player officially filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, and now, he’s filed a motion to try and get his monthly child support payments reduced.
According to TMZ, one of Sapp’s biggest stumbling blocks may be with Angela Sanders. Back in the day, she and Warren hammered out an agreement that called for $2500 every month, regardless of changes in income. The thinking was that by accepting a lower figure initially, she and her child would be protected even after Sapp retired from the NFL, and the lineman would be protected if he signed a new gigantic contract. With the bankruptcy filing, however, he’s now seeking to violate the original agreement and pay her even less.
All of the legal proceedings are in their infancy at the moment. Sapp still reportedly makes more than one hundred thousand dollars a month as a commentator, but given all his debt and what percentage goes to taxes, that money doesn’t go as far as it would seem. Here’s to hoping a deal can be worked out that allows Sapp to support his child and pay his own rent.
