As one of the most popular female singers ever and the woman must recently gifted with the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Beyonce is a woman used to popularity. She’s a woman who expects most of the things she does, apart from lip syncing, to be very well received by fans. Unfortunately for her, her latest single hasn’t exactly been universally embraced by fans, and it hasn’t exactly been universally embraced by her fellow artists either.
Yesterday on Twitter, Beyonce’s fellow R&B singer-songwriter Keyshia Cole went off on the singer for sometimes acting self-righteous and other times acting cocky, depending on her specific mood. Here’s a portion of her larger rant…
”First "Women need to Stick together" now bitches better Bow. Smh. But it's all G! Chicks stay shooting the shit. But when I speak my mind its a prob. #Well #StayMad”
On the one hand, it’s easy to see why Cole is pretty annoyed. Beyonce has spoken out of both sides of her mouth about this issue, and it does seem a little ridiculous for her to act like women should stick together and then elevate herself above everyone else with this ridiculously forward song. Then again, other singers have spoken out of both sides of their mouths before, and provided they’re making people happy, most fans don’t seem to care. Take a listen to the song in question below…
What do you think? Does Keyshia have a point, or should we all just let Beyonce do her thing? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
