Earlier this week, Matthew McConaughey’s wife Camila Alves gave birth to the couple’s third child. By all accounts, the delivery went smoothly, and the growing family is positively stoked about its newest addition, young Livingston Alves McConaughey.

In the grand scheme of celebrity names, Livingston is far from as weird as it gets, though that shouldn’t be a big surprise given what direction they’ve gone in the past. Four and a half years ago, they welcomed in a baby son and gave him the extremely sensible name Levi. Three years ago, he was joined by a beautiful baby girl who was christened with the lovely moniker Vida. Livingston is maybe a half step toward the eccentric category from those two, but there’s still something normal and familiar about it. It’s in bounds.

I actually really like the name Livingston. It’s classy and sophisticated, and I think this kid will love having it when he’s old enough to appreciate it. Apparently, my approval isn’t universally shared, however. There has been some Twitter backlash from fans who think it sounds overly formal, stuffy and kind of weird for the sake of being weird.

What do you think about the name Livingston? Do you support Matthew and Camila’s decision to role with that or do you think they should have chosen a different name? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
