First Look At Supergirl Comic Villain Roulette And More

The upcoming episode of Supergirl is going to introduce yet another villain from the comics to the show, and we finally have our first look at Roulette and another impressive bad guy from the episode. Both will debut in Monday's episode, "Survivors." Take a look.

First up is Roulette, who we've thought for a while would be making an appearance on Supergirl this season. According to the official episode synopsis, which was released by the show today, Roulette is going to be up to some not-so-great things when we first meet her.

When Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) investigate the murder of an unregistered alien, the trail leads to an alien fight club run by Roulette (guest star Dichen Lachman), the ringmaster who commands aliens to fight in mortal combat for the entertainment of rich humans. While trying to stop the fighting, Supergirl and Martian Manhunter find themselves up against a surprising opponent. Meanwhile, Hank (David Harewood) is thrilled to have found another Martian and tries to get to know M'Gann (guest star Sharon Leal) better. Supergirl takes Mon-El (Chris Wood) under her wing and begins to train him.

In the comics, Roulette is a villain who actually doesn't have any superpowers. She's simply a woman who's extremely capable of calculating odds and then turned that ability into a penchant for very high stakes gambling, which has made her into quite the foe for anyone who bets against her over the years. Supergirl has chosen a clever use for the character here, seeing as how she'll be running this underground alien fight club. In Roulette's comic debut, she somehow managed to capture most of the Justice Society of America, and then forced them to fight each other for survival, with increasingly odd and brutal punishments for both the losers and winners as they moved on to the next round of fighting.

Apparently, in this fight club, there will be a "surprising opponent" for Supergirl and Martian Manhunter, which, from the photo, I'm guessing might be this guy:

Well, damn. He looks dangerous. This bad boy is Draaga, another character from the comics. He was introduced during the Superman in Exile storyline in 1989 as a champion gladiator whom Superman beats but then refuses to kill. If this version of the character is similarily talented at fighting, it seems that Supergirl and Martian Manhunter will probably have quite a time stopping him from going in for the kill whenever he wins, since that is probably exactly what he's used to in this fight club.

We can see how "Survivors" turns out when Supergirl airs Monday on The CW at 8 p.m. EST.
