One of Vin Diesel's most popular roles may be one in which he utters just a trio of syllables ad nauseam, but don't be fooled into thinking the actor can't shed his hyper-masculine persona to break into musical classics. In his appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Diesel threw his best British accent at host James Corden, which snowballed into Diesel offering up an impromptu audition for the viral sensation Late Late Show segment Carpool Karaoke. The real fun starts at about 1:24 in the video below, but the entire clip is definitely worth it.

That dude is nuts. When you're Vin Diesel, living in the moment is pretty much what it's about, so if the star of the upcoming xXx: Return of Xander Cage has inner desires about belting out some show tunes and joining the Carpool Karaoke elite, then he should by all means be allowed to take advantage of his spot on the Late Late Show couch to try out. And even though his actual "performance" isn't very long, it's got everything we'd want from such a scenario.

1. It's Vin Diesel singing "Consider Yourself" from the classic musical Oliver!, which I'll admit isn't something that I knew I wanted when this week began. But when it was hinted at just that minute earlier in the interview, whoa boy, did that wish rocket to the top of the heap. Guys like Xander Cage and Dom Toretto probably aren't going to spend any time in future movies with their vocal chops on full display, so it's gotta be Vin himself. Although now I'm interesting in seeing the Iron Giant on Carpool Karaoke.

2. It's Vin Diesel singing in a British accent. Sure, you'd probably expect anyone who's singing Oliver! to affect the speech patterns from across the pond, but this is Riddick we're talking about. In any case, this is proof that Ricky Gervais needs to bring Vin Diesel into a future project.

3. It's Vin Diesel not doing an altogether incredible job of singing "Consider Yourself." While James Corden is hitting all the right words, as is the James Corden Way, Diesel doesn't get all the words and excitedly jumps along from one line to the next. It's rather endearing, and makes it seem as if he's about seven beers deep and just emptied his pockets in the jukebox. Here's hoping this was enough for Corden to give him a call the next time he takes a drive.

Vin Diesel, who is already talking about a fourth xXx film, will hit theaters all over the place this weekend with Xander Cage's latest exploits. And you can catch The Late Late Show with James Corden weeknights on CBS at 12:37 a.m. ET. Head to our midseason premiere schedule to see everything that's coming to the small screen in the future.
