It's no secret that Netflix has changed the world of TV production. The streaming service produces a ton of fantastic content, making way for the likes of Hulu and Amazon to follow suit. While Netflix has a myriad shows available, there are a handful that rise to the top of its catalogue. One of them is the historical drama The Crown, which follows the life and rule of Queen Elizabeth. The series has been critically acclaimed, with star Claire Foy winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress in the process. Now it turns out that even the Royal Family is watching the fictionalized version of the monarch's long life.

Following their internet breaking engagement announcement, all eyes are on Prince Harry and fiancee Meghan Markle. The world is eager to see the upcoming Royal Wedding, where the American actress will officially become part of the Royal Family. A new report indicates that she's been doing her research the family, including watching The Crown. The best part? Prince Harry and she watch it together, which should no doubt affect the way she sees the acclaimed series.

This latest report comes from ET, which details the way that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are couples just like us, and how they're gearing up for their highly anticipated nuptials. Of course, they each have their own unique way of approaching The Crown, as Markle is an experienced actress and Harry is watching his family's history being told on screen.

The Crown has become a significant pop culture moment, as its been viewed as some of the very best Netflix has to offer in the way of original programming. The series is methodical about which stories are told, and instantly transport the audience back in time. Additionally, the performances on The Crown have all been universally praised. In addition to Claire Foy's fantastic approach to Queen Elizabeth, John Lithgow and Vanessa Kirby have been met with acclaim as Winston Churchill and Princess Margaret respectively.

It should be interesting to see if Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue watching The Crown into its mysterious third season. The drama is making a bold creative choice by doing a time jump, and recasting its principle actors. This certainly feels like a big gamble, as its audience has grown quite fond of all of the cast. And with shows like NBC's This Is Us using old age makeup with wild success, it certainly seems like a bold choice to start over with a new cast.

The Crown likely won't be back until sometime in 2019, as production hasn't started on Season 3. In the meantime, be sure to check out our midseason premiere list to plan your next binge watch.
