Game Of Thrones' Sophie Turner And Maisie Williams Used To Make Out During Filming Just For Goofs
Sophie Turner may be in the midst of a press tour for the critically panned X-Men: Dark Phoenix, but that doesn't mean people are going to stop asking her questions regarding Game of Thrones. Perhaps conveniently, she hasn't seen the final two episodes yet which may help deter some questions, and has made folks like Conan O'Brien a bit more creative in the questions asked.
He decided to ask Sophie Turner about the a relationship between she and co-star and friend Maisie Williams, and whether they were aware of the speculation the two had some sort of romantic relationship. This led the actress to reveal the two used to kiss on set for goofs, just to see what would happen.
As Sophie Turner explained, it doesn't seem like she and Maisie Williams were ever given the reaction they were hoping for with the prank. Whether that was because people were just confused, apathetic, or realized the two were hoping for a reaction and didn't want to encourage them is something we didn't get the answer to. Still, there had to be at least one person wondering why Arya and Sansa were kissing in a scene, right?
Was it all just a prank though? Conan O'Brien pressed Sophie Turner a bit further following the revelation, and asked if the kisses were only to see what reactions they'd get on set or to stir up further speculation on some romantic relationship. The actress seemed to settle mainly on the fact that it was for goofs, but added a little bit at the end which may get people talking all over again.
Sophie Turner has been pretty open about experimenting in same sex relationships. There hasn't been explicit confirmation on whether or not she's referring to Maisie Williams, but she's mentioned in the past the two used to get high in bathtubs together and hung out a lot when they were filming together. They're best friends though, so it's not like the immediate assumption is yes.
