Famed actor and comedian Tracy Morgan is apparently heading for divorce from his wife. The former 30 Rock star married model Megan Wollover back in August 2015, which was a little more than a year after the highway crash that nearly cost him his life. The split comes just shy of the couple's five-year anniversary as husband and wife.

Tracy Morgan announced the split with a statement (via ET), saying:

Sadly, after nearly five years of marriage, Megan and I are filing for divorce. This is a challenging time for all involved, so I ask that you please respect our privacy.

A divorce complaint was reportedly submitted by Tracy Morgan's lawyer on Wednesday, July 29 with the New Jersey Superior Court, and the expectation is that the case will be sealed. Morgan, 51, shares a 7-year-old daughter with Megan Wollover, who is now 33.

A representative for Megan Wollover released a statement as well (via People) on July 29, saying that Wollover "filed for divorce yesterday" and her "primary focus remains the best interest of the parties’ daughter." Wollover also asks that the family's privacy "be respected during this difficult time."

News of the split comes less than three months after Tracy Morgan spoke with People about what life under quarantine meant for him and his family. At the time, Morgan said:

We’re taking this time to get closer—loving more and being patient with each other. My life is always so busy, so now I get time to just be with my family.

Tracy Morgan and Megan Wollover's wedding in August 2015 came a little over a year after Morgan was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle pileup. He faced a long road to recovery, which included relearning how to sit, stand, and walk, as well as the ongoing struggles with the traumatic brain injuries that resulted in his two-week coma. He shared that walking Wollover down the aisle at their wedding without a cane or wheelchair was a motivator for him in physical therapy.

In his professional life, Tracy Morgan did eventually recover enough to return to comedy, and scored a starring role in his own TBS sitcom, called The Last O.G. The show has run for three seasons so far but has not been officially renewed (or cancelled) since the Season 3 finale back in early June. We'll have to wait and see if Tracy Morgan will score another season on TBS.

For now, you can find the first two seasons of The Last O.G. streaming on Netflix, and all seven seasons of 30 Rock streaming on Hulu, Amazon, and NBCUniversal's new streaming service.
