Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Chloe Bennet Opens Up About Her Battle With Covid-19

At this point, it would be a gross understatement to say that COVID-19 has had a massive effect on our lives. The world is quickly approaching the one-year mark when it comes to the pandemic, and cases are still steadily being reported. Among those contracting the virus are a number of celebrities like Shemar Moore and Sharon Osbourne. Now, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. alum Chloe Bennet joins that group, as she’s opening up about battling COVID-19 with her family.

Chloe Bennet revealed her COVID-19 diagnosis through her Instagram Stories. Bennet, who had been taking a break from the platform, revealed that she first began experiencing symptoms on Christmas morning. She later tested positive for the virus along with members of her family:

Hey haven’t been on here for a little, wanted to give an update… On Christmas morning I woke up with a high fever, and unable to breathe. I got tested, and I’m positive for COVID-19 … it’s been a rough week to say the least. Multiple members of my family are also infected, we’ve all been battling it out together. We’re still not in the clear, but as of now we’re doing...okay.

In her message, Chloe Bennet continued to stress the importance of staying safe and encouraged her followers to be vigilant. As the actress explained, she contracted the virus in spite of doing her best to follow safety guidelines:

I'm sharing this because I want to iterate to anyone who still may not be taking covid seriously, please please please fucking do. I pride myself on staying healthy, I always wore a mask, social distanced, and took all the necessary precautions and I still got VERY sick. And I’m one of the lucky ones.

The COVID-19 pandemic essentially consumed 2020, with many spending the vast majority of the year in quarantine. Restrictions have been lifted in some places, but Bennet stresses that even though 2020 has ended, the pandemic has not:

So I guess I’m on here just trying to remind anyone whose reading this, that yes 2020 is coming to an end, but this pandemic is still raging on, and if you can, don’t let up. Stay distant, stay safe, wear a mask.

Places like California have seen significant spikes in COVID-19 cases in the past several months. As a result, many are doing what they can to enforce safety protocols and discourage public gatherings.

In the midst of these unfortunate circumstances, it’s good to see Chloe Bennet and so many other actors using their platforms to spread awareness about COVID-19. As she says, the pandemic is still raging on, and there’s certainly plenty of work to be done if we’re to end it.
