ABC Orders Up Some Southern Discomfort

After casting difficulties caused ABC to shelve the pilot Women are Crazy, Men are Stupid, the network has opted to put out a late pilot order for a multicamera comedy called Southern Discomfort.

The Hollywood Reporter posted the news stating that Southern Discomfort is written by Chad Kultgen and will center on a father whose life is turned upside down when his grown kids move back in with him.

Set to exec-produce the show is Cheers’ Rob Long, who will be working alongside Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum, both of whose TV credits include Sit Down, Shut Up, Notes From the Underbelly and Two and a Half Men. ABC's already going forward with the casting for the show. It should be interesting to see if they go with unknowns for the leads in this pilot or if they’ll try to lure some viewers in with a few big TV names.

At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way).
