ABC Takes Us Down The Path To 9/11

Has it been five years already? ABC will be acknowledging the 5th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks with a miniseries called ‘The Path to 9/11’. Directed by David L. Cunningham, the six-hour miniseries will focus mainly on the events leading up to the attacks. The series will star Harvey Keitel as well as Patricia Heaton and former NKOTB singer-turned-actor, Donnie Wahlberg.

In the past, the story of 9/11 has been told mainly through documentaries but apparently people decided that 5 years was long enough to wait before producing dramatized version of the story for the big and small screens. United 93 is one of 2006’s most successful films and Oliver Stone’s adaptation of 9/11, World Trade Center is sure to be a box office hit (all in the spirit of “We will never forget” of course).

NBC planned to do a 9/11 miniseries but it fell through, leaving ABC virtually unrivaled (for now). ‘The Path to 9/11’ will premiere on September 10th.

Any news on “9/11: The Broadway Musical”? Sorry, nothing yet folks but I’ll be sure to keep you posted.
