Aaaaand She's Outta There!

You can all breathe a sigh of relief—you no longer have to pretend to care about ‘The View.’ Our favorite Trump-baitin’, Walters-annoying lesbian Rosie O’Donnell has left the all-female chatfest, three weeks before her contract was up and she was scheduled to depart.

The exist comes three days after Rosie famously browbeat cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck over her stance on the Iraq war—the video, naturally, is on YouTube:

Her tenure on the show—can you believe it’s only been 8 months?—has been more YouTube-able than any other show on daytime, including that time Kelly Ripa tried to shush Clay Aiken. Rosie’s constant back-and-forth fighting with Donald Trump, her unabashed openness about her sexuality, and her general abrasiveness on the show made the term “catfight” show up in blogs on a weekly basis. Who knew they could find someone more controversial than Star Jones?

Honestly, it seemed stupid for ABC to let Rosie go—‘The View’s ratings have been significantly up since she joined the show, and almost definitely due to the way she has courted controversy. Watching her argument with Hasselbeck it seems almost revolutionary that such a naked argument over the facts of the war could be seen on daytime—I haven’t seen anyone that agitated on a family program since Robert Novak stormed off a set at CNN.

Also, because you care, Donald Trump had a characteristically charming statement on the whole ordeal: "A great service was done by getting her off the airwaves ... she's a disaster."

At least we can take hope in knowing that Donald will probably not give up insulting her for a long, long time, and that will always be entertaining.
