Beyoncé has been taking life a little more slowly since the birth of her first child, Blue Ivy. Prior to the birth of her baby, the pop singer has always been solid at promoting herself, offering personal photos on her website and maintaining roughly 6.5 million fans on her Twitter account. For her most recent endeavor, the 31-year-old has decided to go a step further, and has taken over the director’s chair.

The singer has signed on to be a subject in one of HBO network’s documentaries. Since HBO does documentaries on a continual basis, it’s no surprise that Beyoncé’s number came up. What’s more surprising is that the “Countdown” singer has signed on to direct the as-yet untitled project that will be for Beyoncé, by Beyoncé, and about Beyoncé. The Grammy winner seems to be generically excited that the documentary has landed at HBO.

"Some of my favorite shows are on HBO, so I am excited that my film will be part of its bold programming. This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home."

According to Deadline, the film will premiere on February 16, 2013, which means it will air just a few weeks after the singer gets the chance to perform during the Super Bowl halftime event. The untitled documentary will take a look at the star’s childhood through the present, and will feature footage from her performances, as well as her home life—and yes, there will be plenty of time devoted to the singer’s marriage to rap mogul Jay-Z and their baby, Blue Ivy. Some of the upcoming documentary was even shot on the pop singer’s laptop, so we know we are getting quality.
