Fox has an idea to make it’s Wednesday drama ‘Bones’ a bit more realistic. Well, actually they plan to bring the online reality of MySpace to the show. In order to promote the upcoming episode entitled “The Glowing Bones in the Old Stone House,” the show’s characters will have their very own MySpace pages. It’s a melding of the blogosphere with a brooding Boreanaz. No one broods like David, and you know it.

The profiles are currently up on MySpace, and as the episode looms closer blog entries will be posted to give clues as to who made the bones glow. The episode follows Brennan as she is called to examine radioactive remains, which ultimately lead to a group of friends who have MySpace pages. The team will use their powers of blog reading and emoticon usage to solve the case. Everything will be accessible to viewers prior to the airing of the episode on May 9th, giving an in-depth view of the mystery and, Fox hopes, engaging the viewers.

Whether you like ‘Bones’ or not this is an intriguing idea. As networks become ever more aware of the fans that drive a show, it seems we get some fairly interactive ways to enjoy our stories. Podcasts, graphic novels, streaming episodes, and other schemes such as this one bring the viewer closer to their favorite shows than has ever been possible before. To get in on the ‘Bones’ action, head over to Fox’s website.
