Catherine O'Hara Up For A Role In Rob Thomas' ABC Project

I adore Catherine O’Hara. There’s something about her style of comedy that I just love. So I can’t help but get excited over the news that she’s in negotiations to star in the new ABC drama, Good Behavior.

The Hollywood Reporter posted the news today, saying O’Hara was in talks to play the matriarch in the series, which is being developed by Rob Thomas, creator of Veronica Mars. Good Behavior is a remake of a New Zealand series called Outrageous Fortune and centers on a family of criminals who decide to leave their life of crime behind and hit the straight and narrow after the father/husband goes to prison. O’Hara is up for the role of the wife and mother in the family.

As the cancellation of Veronica Mars has left a big, gaping hole in my TV-watching life, I can’t wait for anything with Rob Thomas’ name behind it to hit the small screen. Since Good Behavior is described as a dramedy, I’m thinking O’Hara will be a good choice for the role. Unless you were living under a rock (or not born yet) in the early 90’s, you’ll probably remember O’Hara as the sometimes serious, sometimes funny Kate McCallister in the first two Home Alone movies. She’s also demonstrated her comedic skill as the uber-yuppie, Delia in Beetlejuice as well as with her roles in quite a few Christopher Guest’s films. This includes playing the once-promiscuous dog enthusiast Cookie Guggelman Fleck in Best In Show . Here she is demonstrating her singing abilities in that film:
