Clips From Saturday Night Live's Finale - Steve Carell Hosts

When I found out Steve Carell hosted the season finale of Saturday Night Live, which was enough incentive for me to actually watch the episode. We’ve got a couple of clips from the episode, including the Office-themed digital short, introduced by original Office mastermind, Ricky Gervais as well as the Weekend Update clip featuring Senator McCain.

In what was easily one of the funniest sketches in the episode, Ricky Gervais (creator of the original UK version of The Office - which by the way, really does live up to the hype) introduces the digital short by first sharing a few opinions about the U.S. version of The Office. Then we get to see what the Japanese version of the show would look like. As Gervais points out, it’s funny ‘cause it’s racist. Seriously can they please get Gervais to appear in an episode or two of the U.S. Office? Please?

Politics

Here’s a clever ad that pokes fun at the continuing Clinton/Obama race:

And Senator McCain makes an appearance on Weekend Update to discuss why he’s in favor of indecision among the democrats:

Click here for McCain’s other sketch in which he explains why he’s a good candidate for the presidency.

The Opening

The opening of the episode was funny in an old-joke kind of way:

There’s also a parody of Deal or No Deal, which is funny at parts, a goofy sketch about a guy who lost 200 lbs., and one of those end of the episode kind of stupid but also kind of funny sketches.
